FREDERICK, Okla. (KSWO) - Newly filed court documents show the man accused of shooting and killing a man in Frederick last week, is now officially facing murder charges.

7News obtained court records on Michael Lorah of Manitou, who’s now charged with first-degree murder, and possessing a firearm after a felony conviction.

Those documents allege that the victim, identified as Jake Zuniga, went to the home Lorah was staying at to ask him for help in moving furniture.

Only, when Zuniga walked in, court documents allege Lorah shot him.

Zuniga would later die from his wounds as he was being prepared to be airlifted to a hospital.

According to court documents, Lorah told investigators that he shot the man because he feared him, and claimed Zuniga was attempting to quote “come at him.” He added by saying that he only meant to scare him, not actually shoot him.

Lorah faces up to life or the death penalty if convicted.

His bond has been set at $1 million
