We’ve had a lot of staff go on to take leadership roles around the area and continue working with the station as they do so. Sarae Ticeahkie has done that through her work as Public Relations Officer for Comanche Nation.
Keith Pannell and Marie Pihulic both made their on-air debut here at KSWO, and both grew a passion for sharing the stories of Fort Sill, making it their full time career.
Matthew a former Chief Meteorologist of the First Alert 7 Weather Team at KSWO. Previously he was on KSWO’s Good Morning Texoma for several years and also was the lead storm chaser. When he started at KSWO in 2011, he was the weekend evening meteorologist.
Tarra Gilbert now known as Dr. Tarra Bates got her start at KSWO in 1980. She started as an editor, then a photographer, then a reporter. After two years of reporting, she was promoted to backup co-anchor.
“I don’t want to be on camera. I’m scared to be on camera.” Those are the words Charles told his friend who hired him at KSWO just days before he started a 40+ year career on the air.
